about the artist
Owner and Principal Artist, Jennifer Pickering
I’m Jennifer Pickering and the owner of Crush of Colour. I’m a contemporary artist with 20 years experience. I grew up in Vernon, B.C., and have a Masters of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from UBC. I studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris, France and participate in international exhibitions and residencies.
I was the Artistic and Administrative Director of the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Arts in Kelowna, BC from 2006-2010. I studied tango and worked as an artist in Argentina for two years then spent 7 years teaching art in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. I was born in Switzerland, grew up in Vernon and have been living in West Vancouver since 2019.
